Area's of interest
ADHD,Autism and neurodiversity
I have a special area of interest in supporting neurodvierse clients (including ADHD and Autism). Neurodiversity can come with its own set of challenges, sometimes what is expected to be simple struggles are more difficult for you as a neurodvierse person. If you have had a diagnosis (or self diagnosis) later in life there are often a lot of complicated feelings and emotions that arise. Sometimes there are other issues such as relationship struggles, family struggles, depression, anxiety and trauma which can impact on several area’s of a person’s life including home, work and social life. My knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity can help you to explore these issues and come to a deeper understanding of yourself and how to make changes in your life that works for you.

I work with an affirming approach to neurodiversity meaning that we often look about how to use your strengths and environment to work for and benefit you. I also work with you to create support structures and accommodations where needed.
Sexual abuse
I am passionate about supporting survivors of sexual abuse. Sexual abuse often has a big impact on the life of survivors, creating difficulties in all areas of life including work, family and relationships.

It is important that there is a safe space created for you to explore your thoughts and feelings openly. I work at your pace with different therapy modalities to overcome your difficulties and give you the tools to live the life you want.

I am a registered ACC Counsellor so you may be eligible for funded counselling. Please contact me for further details.

My Approach
I am a trained counsellor and I use a range of modalities and tools to meet the needs of my clients. I am a client centered therapist which means I hold a lot of focus on the trust and rapport I build with my clients. I sit alongside my clients to help them navigate their journey. I may also include modalities such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), gestalt therapy, art therapy and strength-based approaches. This all depends on the needs of my client.
